Catering in the US had existed in some form or another since its very beginning. But it was very uncommon as a trade, and only emerged as an industry after WWII, when foodkitchen suppliers for the war had to adapt their businesses for peace time.








After the war, catering as we know today started to emerge all over the US. With a shift in the food culture looking for convenience, and a general national shift towards more leisure, catering grew in popularity.

While it was initially something reserved for the well-offs, it slowly became something more accessible to everyone at every budget.
